Role and Responsibilitiesprogramming for PK-12 students with diverse abilities, ensuring high-quality services across learning support, speech and language pathology, English learning, personalized learning assistants, occupational therapy, and gifted and talented services. This role also serves as the Accommodations Coordinator for both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and College Board (AP), ensuring that students receive the necessary accommodations for assessments. The director manages the department’s budget, identifies essential community resources, organizes parent coffee talks to foster communication and collaboration, and provides ongoing coaching and evaluation for scholar support staff. They also lead professional development initiatives, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL), behavioral interventions, and crisis prevention. Additionally, the director supervises a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and professional growth within the department, and serves as a key participant in the SST process, helping to ensure that individualized student needs are met. They are responsible for developing and updating the Scholar Support Handbook, ensuring that policies reflect current best practices and align with legal standards for students with disabilities. This holistic role requires expertise in both academic and social-emotional support systems, as well as strong leadership and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
