Job PurposeAt Dubai British School Jumeirah Park, our teachers play a vital role in shaping curious, confident learners. To achieve this, teachers deliver dynamic and challenging Psychology lessons that spark genuine interest in human behaviour, blending psychological theory with real‑world case studies, practical investigations, and inquiry‑based learning to make every lesson meaningful and engaging. Guided by the British National Curriculum and KHDA’s standards for Outstanding education, our teachers create an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels inspired to achieve their best, think critically about why people behave the way they do, and explore the world through scientific and evidence‑based thinking.Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum DeliveranceTeach Psychology across Key Stages, specialising in GCSE and A-Level.Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and support all learners, incorporating real‑world case studies, practical investigations, and inquiry‑based approaches.Develop and maintain schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with departmental and whole‑school priorities.Ensure lessons reflect best practice in pedagogy, including effective differentiation and strategies to support EAL learners.Data-Informed Student Progress and AttainmentUse formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform teaching.Record and analyse assessment data to identify trends and implement interventions where needed.Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and communicate progress effectively to parents3. Classroom Practice and StandardsCreate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and respect.Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement through clear routines and positive relationships.Act as a role model for outstanding teaching and uphold a culture of excellence in learning 4. Professional Development and CollaborationParticipate actively in departmental meetings and contribute to shared planning, resource development, and collaborative approaches to teaching Psychology.Engage in professional learning opportunities to stay current with curriculum developments and best practice in Psychology education, including connecting with international subject specific networks such as the APA Psychology Teacher Network, which provides global resources and pedagogy guidance for Psychology educators, and the Inter TOP International Teaching of Psychology Network, which fosters collaboration and exchange among Psychology teachers worldwide.Where relevant, draw on regional professional bodies such as the Middle East Psychological Association (MEPA) to support understanding of local practice and engage with
