The successful candidate will provide a professional and confidential counselling service to our students, promote their wellbeing and help build their resilience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and welcoming community in one of the leading international schools in the region.Skills and qualities:A bachelor’s degree in psychology (or similar field) and a master’s degree in counselling or psychotherapy, preferably related to childrenMinimum 2 years’ post qualification experienceBACP/ UKCP registration (or similar)Further therapeutic training or qualifications in working with children and young people preferred. Qualifications in CBT, play therapy, drama therapy, art therapy would be an advantage.An understanding of the developmental, emotional, social, and educational needs of children and young people.High level of cultural awareness and sensitivityStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to collect and analyse data and produce high-quality reportsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyKey responsibilities:Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peoplePromote the school’s vision, mission and valuesManage a caseload of students who require confidential one to one counselling or therapeutic group work for a range of social and emotional needsProvide support, guidance and advice to parents and carersMaintain appropriate and confidential recordsWork collaboratively with the Designated Safeguarding Leads across the school to evaluate the needs of identified students and determine appropriate levels of supportWork collaboratively with the pastoral team to respond in a timely and effective manner to student needs across the schoolContinually review and evaluate the counselling serviceActively engage in professional development opportunities to support the roleWhat we offer: Enthusiastic and motivated students Engaged and supportive school community Exciting leisure and recreational activities in a friendly, diverse and hospitable country with a rich cultural heritage.Our excellent compensation package includes: A competitive tax-free salary Access to exclusive community clubs, including restaurants, swimming pools, gymnasiums, and other sporting facilities.
