The successful candidate will assist an individual or small groups of students to engage in learning across the curriculum. The successful applicant will preferably hold at least a High School Diploma. A CACHE Level 3 qualification or equivalent would be desirable. He/She will have relevant and recent school-based experience within the classroom or on a 1:1 basis. Main responsibilities include:Establish a supportive relationship with the student(s) concerned.Develop an understanding of the specific needs of the student(s) to be supported, through liaising with staff and engaging in professional development where directed.Support in-class learning, and social interactions as required, under the guidance and supervision of the subject teacher.Observe the student’s progress within a task or subject and, where appropriate, redirect attention to other students or tasks to allow for increased independence.Liaise with teachers to understand lesson planning and support in adapting resources as needed.Provide more personalised support to the student(s) outside of the classroom if/as required, as directed by the subject teacher or Oasis Link.Track pupil progress against IEP targets and feedback to the Oasis Link.Perform break duties.Attend staff meetings (when requested).Attend trips if/as required.Support the Oasis department with cover and/or administrative tasks if the student(s) is absent or unavailable (e.g. at an appointment).Follow all school and authority policies and procedures.Be adaptable to changing circumstances and guidelines.Perform other related duties as required.At JESS we highly value personal attributes of hard work, positivity and kindness, and we are
