Required Degrees: Bachelor Degree Fields of Expertise: ESL/EFL, ESL to Children, Details: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate native English-speaking teacher wanted to work at a foreign-run English Academy in Gwangju from Monday – Friday 2:00 – 7:10 pm (dinner provided). The ideal candidate will be highly organized, energetic, and have a genuine love for working with children. This position requires a commitment to creating a positive and engaging learning environment, fostering academic and social development, and promoting a lifelong love of learning. Generally, the kids are great and come from English-speaking schools. Most classes are elementary school students, and we use L1 Language Arts textbooks (no ESL / EFL textbooks). We are one of the few hagwons in Gwangju run and operated by an expat. Responsibilities: Classroom Management: – Create a well-organized and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning. – Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a positive and focused learning atmosphere. Curriculum Development: – Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school curriculum and educational standards. – Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Student Assessment: – Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. – Implement appropriate strategies to address individual learning needs and promote student success. Energetic and Positive Interaction: – Create a positive and nurturing atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn. – Infuse energy and enthusiasm into daily interactions with students, making learning an enjoyable experience. Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree – Previous experience teaching at academies is preferred. – Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. – Enthusiastic and energetic with a genuine passion for working with children. – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
