We are seeking to appoint a passionate, creative, and experienced Behaviour Support Specialist Teacher to join our well-established and supportive primary school team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working effectively with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This specialist role involves supporting the development of pupils’ emotional regulation, resilience, and readiness to learn, through tailored nurture and intervention strategies.The post is available from September 2026. The role will primarily focus on behaviour support, with teaching responsibilities, Flexibility and a sound understanding of high-quality classroom practice are essential.You will be joining a dedicated and dynamic staff team within our vibrant 320-pupil primary school located in Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands.If you would like to find out more about this unique opportunity, the school, or life in the Falkland Islands, please contact Penny Kontopyrghou, Senior Business Director, by emailing your CV or enquiry to: penny.kontopyrghou@hays.com.We are seeking to recruit a Behaviour Support Specialist Teacher who:• will work in our mainstream school with a child centred approach• can demonstrate a recent successful experience of working with pupils with a range of behavioural barriers and specific learning needs• can enable children to access learning in their classroom• deliver a behaviour and nurture support programme, both within the classroom and an individual setting• is focused on helping children achieve high levels of progress in a happy and effective learning environment• is a graduate with qualified teacher status (appropriate age range) who has completed their ECT induction and preferably has at least 3 years’ successful teaching experience post induction.• has experience in more than one key stage in the primary age range• is committed to SEND inclusive practice• can work successfully with children who exhibit challenging behaviour• can effectively monitor, assess, record and report on pupils’ progress • can work within and contribute to coaching and mentoring environment• has good interpersonal skills and works well in teams • possesses secure IT skills and has good IWB knowledge• is able to contribute to the development of extra curriculum opportunitiesWe will provide:• A stimulating and supportive working environment with enthusiastic children who are keen to learn• salary up to £46,244 for teachers with 5+ years’ experience• Eligibility for a 25% gratuity payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract• Favourable income tax rates• Airfare for post holder and dependants at the beginning and end of contract, as well as return airfares after every full year of the contract• smaller class sizes• a relocation grant for contracts of 2 years and longer• affordable utilities and accommodation to rent• free general medical care and prescriptions• free education locally for dependent children to GCSE level and possible allowance for overseas studies thereafter• fixed term contract of either 2, 3 or 4 years• detailed information about life in the Falkland IslandsTo applyPlease complete an application form by downloading the form via this page.Contact Penny Kontopyrghou Senior Business Director when you apply or if you
