JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title : Drama Teacher Location : Epsom College Malaysia, Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan Reports to : Head of Drama Job Type : Full Time, Fixed TermKey ResponsibilitiesThe Drama Teacher is:• responsible to the Head of Faculty for curriculum matters and will work closely with Assistant Head (Academic);• responsible to the Housemaster/Housemistress for pastoral matters and will work closely with the Deputy Head (Head of Senior);• responsible for the planning of lessons in accordance with faculty/departmental schemes of work;• responsible for the setting of ambitious academic targets for all students taught in line with college-wide goals and which take account of students’ prior attainment and English Language levels;• responsible for maintaining good discipline in all lessons taught by following the College’s disciplinary policies and procedures;• responsible for the establishment of a purposeful and positive working atmosphere during all learning activities;• responsible for the setting of appropriate, challenging and stimulating work – including Independent Learning Assignments – for all students taught;• responsible for the identification of students with Special Educational Needs, Talented and Gifted abilities and English as an Additional Language (EAL) concerns and for the prompt reporting of such to the appropriate Line Manager;• responsible, where possible, for the setting of appropriate, challenging and stimulating work for all students taught during periods of absence;• responsible for the gathering of information (for inclusion in the Performance Management Personal Profile) which will be supportive of the Self-Analysis component of Performance Management.TasksThe Drama Teacher will:• expect to teach a full-timetable as identified in The School’s current curriculum documentation;• receive planning, preparation, assessment and department/faculty meeting time as identified in The College’s current curriculum documentation);• keep appropriate records of students’ work; • mark and return work set – including Independent Learning Assignments – within an agreed and reasonable time; • use agreed departmental, faculty and school marking schemes; • carry out programmes of assessment as agreed by the faculty and The College; • complete student reports in line with The College’s Reporting Policy; • will attend parent/teacher consultation events – including presentations from The Headmaster, Deputy Head (Head of Senior) and Housemasters – and keep parents informed about students’ performance and targets using the Student Planner;• lead or participate in a minimum of five extra-curricular activity per week during term-time as directed by The Director of Sports and Activities;• attend faculty, departmental and full staff meetings – including Staff Weekly Briefings – and expect to be available for such, as published;• be available for cover as directed by the Deputy Head (Head of Senior) in accordance with The College’s Cover Policy.Professional ExpectationsThe Drama Teacher will:• be familiar with and commit fully to the College’s Mission Statement and Aims; • be aware of and fully commit to the ethos and life of a boarding school and all that this entails; • be familiar with and commit fully to The College’s English Speaking Environment Policy, on a daily basis; • be familiar with The School’s English as an Additional Language Policy and commit fully to
