This role involves a high level of independence, responsibility and creativity in planning and delivering meaningful, engaging activities.You will act as the young person’s key worker, ensuring consistent communication between school, home and external professionals. You will also take ownership of aspects of their timetable, support their emotional wellbeing, and contribute to their academic progress.Key ResponsibilitiesSupporting academic progress under the guidance of teaching staffMonitoring and reporting on the young person’s progressActing as the main point of communication for school, home and external agenciesWriting risk assessments and pre-visit assessmentsWorking closely with the SENCO and Wellbeing Co-ordinator to plan appropriate activitiesTransporting the young person to off-site activitiesMaintaining accurate academic and safeguarding recordsUndertaking relevant training and supporting elsewhere in school when requiredAbout YouMaths and English GCSE (Grade 4/C and above) or equivalent.Resilience, patience and a commitment to the wellbeing of young peopleHigh degree of computer literacyGood understanding of SENExcellent communication and organisational skillsDriving licence required About UsReddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school in Stockport for pupils with SEMH needs, many with additional diagnoses including ASC, ADHD, and Dyslexia.
