Job OverviewHammersmith Academy Music Department is seeking a Peripatetic Music Teacher for Guitar and Bass Guitar on a self-employed basis to commence in September 2026.Contract type: Self-employed, initially 10 guitar/bass guitar students (5 hours, 1 day per week) with a view to expand.Teachers charge a standard rate, in keeping with the whole-school agreed charge per hour, issue their own terms and conditions, and invoice parents directly.Pay: £38.50 per hourMusic Department at Hammersmith AcademyHammersmith Academy has a strong culture of music, with many children participating in bands, choirs, the orchestra, and smaller ensembles.Hammersmith Academy has many practice rooms and a main recording studio/practice room, class teaching rooms, a Mac suite, and a theatre for performances. Students with peri lessons are expected to prepare for regular concerts, GCSE performance evenings, and the school musical.Students learn music throughout Years 7-9 for 80 minutes every week, with many choosing the option to study GCSE Music.Job Description/Person SpecificationStrong applicants for the post will have experience with RSL/TCL exams and maintain regular and clear communication with parents about pupil progress and examinations.It is desirable that the suitable candidate will have experience with preparing students for GCSE solo and ensemble performances (Eduqas). There is further opportunity to run a band of GCSE students after school, supporting extra-curricular music through attending music concerts throughout the year.HOW TO APPLYPlease complete an Application Form.
