This is a strategic Group-level role with responsibility for ensuring that students across the AISL Harrow Schools are equipped to access world-leading universities and pursue ambitious pathways beyond school.The role will have a particular focus on supporting the development and sustainable growth of the Senior Schools within our AISL China Schools. The successful candidate will lead and develop high-quality university preparation, careers education, curriculum pathways and supplementary examination preparation programmes. They will also work closely with school leaders to strengthen educational outcomes, establish effective data and evaluation systems, and ensure the successful implementation of the AISL Harrow Diploma.The strongest candidates will bring significant senior leadership experience within British and/or international education settings, together with a strong understanding of competitive university admissions and the academic pathways required to prepare students for future success.Position: Associate Director of Education (Futures)Curriculum: British and international pathways, including A Level, IGCSE, IB Diploma and DSEEducation Stage: Senior School / Upper SchoolSkills and QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees preferredSignificant experience in education, with substantial leadership responsibility within senior school, sixth-form, higher education guidance and/or curriculum developmentStrong knowledge and understanding of the British curriculum and international education pathwaysDemonstrable understanding of competitive university admissions, including preparation for world-leading universitiesExperience in developing university guidance, careers education and student pathway programmesAbility to support the development of curriculum content and extended learning opportunities that prepare students for life beyond schoolStrong understanding of assessment, academic performance data and quality assurance processesProven ability to lead and influence across multiple schools and stakeholder groupsExcellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with school Heads, Chinese Principals, academic leaders, University Guidance Counsellors, non-academic colleagues and external partnersExperience of building partnerships with universities, industry bodies and other external organisations would be highly advantageousKey Areas of ResponsibilityThe Associate Director of Education (Futures) will play an important role in:Supporting students in accessing world-leading universities through effective and personalised preparation pathwaysStrengthening Senior School educational outcomes, particularly across the AISL China SchoolsLeading the implementation of the AISL Harrow DiplomaDeveloping curriculum pathways that support higher education access, careers education and future readinessSupporting schools with university preparation programmes, including pathways for highly competitive courses and institutions such as Oxbridge, Ivy League universities, medicine, dentistry and veterinary scienceStrengthening the implementation of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Extended Essay and supplementary examination preparation programmesDeveloping careers education, internships, work-experience
