Required 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Working Monday – Sunday, 5 over 7, to include 1 day at the weekend. Hours alternate weekly between 6.30am-3pm and 12-8.30pm.Downe House is a leading independent boarding and day school for girls based in the village of Cold Ash, near Thatcham, West Berkshire. We operate an in-house fully catered service for pupils and staff which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. In addition, we hold numerous catered events and formal dinners through the year.We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking Catering Team Leader to join our team. You will be passionate about delivering delicious food and a great dining experience to our school community. The Catering Team Leader be an integral member of our catering team, assisting the Catering & Events Manger in the day to day running of the catering operation. You will have previous experience of working in a similar role catering for large numbers, a passion for food and customer service, and an understanding of food hygiene requirements.Main DutiesAssist the Catering and Events Manager in the day to day running of the catering operation, in any catering outlet on site.Supervise all General Assistants and Kitchen Porters on shift.Take responsibility for servicing hospitality and events as directed by the Catering and Events Manager.Ensure that organisational standards are met with regards to hygiene, safety and cleanliness.Benefits Include:Generous pension scheme (9% employer contribution)Life Insurance and Critical Illness coverFree meals while on duty and on-site parkingA supportive induction programmeModern gym and swimming pool facilities, for staff use at set timesRegular opportunities for professional developmentBeautiful working environment in a semi-rural location.Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
