ABC British Academy is seeking to appoint an outstanding, compassionate, and experienced School Counsellor to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the wellbeing, personal development, and academic success of our students within a supportive and ambitious school community.About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide counselling and wellbeing support to students, work collaboratively with staff and parents, and contribute to the school’s safeguarding and inclusion practices. The role requires a proactive professional who can build positive relationships and promote a culture of wellbeing across the school.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group counselling sessions to students.Support students’ emotional, social, behavioural, and academic wellbeing.Work closely with parents, teachers, pastoral leaders, and external agencies where appropriate.Contribute to safeguarding, child protection, and student welfare procedures.Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with school policies.Deliver wellbeing workshops, awareness campaigns, and preventative programmes.Support student transition, attendance, and behaviour initiatives.Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to student support plans.Promote positive mental health and wellbeing throughout the school community.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.Professional qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Mental Health Support.Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a school setting preferred.Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.Fluent English communication skills; Arabic language skills would be an advantage.Eligibility to obtain relevant UAE regulatory approvals and licences where required.We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Comprehensive medical insurance.Professional development opportunities.A supportive and collaborative working environment.The opportunity to be part of a growing and successful school community in Abu Dhabi.Safeguarding StatementABC British Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
