Job ID: S-U-4939 - ESL Summer Camp Teacher/Activity Counselor – New York City, Miami

YES USA is seeking enthusiastic teachers to join our summer program for international teenagers.

Teachers deliver engaging English lessons and lead cultural activities and sightseeing excursions, creating a dynamic and immersive learning experience for students.

This role combines classroom teaching with student supervision during extracurricular trips.

We have housing available in shared university dorms.

Teaching
Deliver engaging, communicative English lessons following the YES USA curriculum
Monitor attendance, assess student progress, and complete weekly evaluation reports
Maintain a positive and collaborative classroom environment
Activities & Excursions
Lead and supervise cultural excursions to touristic sites in each location
Share information about local culture, history, and attractions in an engaging way
Follow itineraries while maintaing flexibility to adapt to program needs
Greet students at the airport and help with student welcome and check-in day
Supervise and keep students engaged during on-campus activities, such as Karaoke Night, Sports Day, and Dance Parties
Ensure student safety and participation during all activities and excursions
General Program Support
Act in loco parentis to ensure and maintain student discipline, welfare, safety, and security whenever in contact with students.

Support session opening and closing tasks such as campus tours and room checks
Attend staff meetings and training sessions
Bachelor’s degree or higher (TESOL, Linguistics, English, or related field preferred)
ESL teaching certification (CELTA, TEFL, or equivalent)
Experience teaching ESL to teenagers
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Builds strong rapport with teenagers
Energetic, outgoing, and culturally curious
Responsible and confident managing groups of students
Comfortable leading groups around the city and during excursions
Flexible, organized, and calm under pressure
Schedule & Contract Dates
This is an intensive summer program that combines teaching, excursions, and student activities.

Teacher/Activity Counselors should expect a full schedule and are guaranteed one day off per week.

Contract dates, lengths, compensation, and housing arrangements vary by location.

We are currently hiring for the following sessions:
• Miami: July 20 – August 2 • New York City (Queens Campus): July 20 – August 16 • New York City (Hoboken Campus): July 20 – August 2 • Los Angeles (Irvine Campus): July 25 – August 7
Compensation varies based on location, contract length, and housing arrangement.
