They understand the school’s expectations in terms of conduct and behaviour’‘Staff know their pupils well, and they build positive relationships with them’The school is an increasingly popular choice within the local community and we are delighted to advertise this role due to an expansion within the school and a larger intake of students in September 2026.We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to support with the SEND provision for Horizon students and all SEND aspects of their provision, liaising with senior leaders as needed. As the Horizon (Autism Base) and mainstream school SENCO, you will deputise for the Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion on a day-to-day basis including liaison for students joining the school. You will ensure that individual needs are met in partnership with the Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion and Trust Director of SEND, and also develop other staff skills with regards to SEN through training and support. You will work closely with the Trust Director of SEND and Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion, who line manages the SEN Department to ensure effective use of resources. In partnership with the Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion and Trust Director of SEND, you will oversee the work of the LSA team.Our opportunity base in Horizon offers a fully equipped environment for supporting students with a diagnosis of ASC, which includes specialist classrooms, social areas, sensory room, IT suite, its own playground and secure drop-off area for taxis and parents.
