Tech Camp is looking for a friendly, responsible and organised Residential House Parent for our Summer 2026 camp in Winchester. This live-in role involves supporting the welfare and day-to-day wellbeing of campers aged 9-17, and would suit someone confident supervising groups of teenagers in a residential setting. Applicants should have a full UK driving licence and use of a car. Details of Position Job title: Residential House Parent Location: Winchester camp, Sparsholt College, Hampshire Dates: Summer 2026 from Saturday 1 August to Friday 28 August Tech Camp runs hands-on residential technology camps for young people aged 9-17, with courses in coding, robotics, electronics, drones and 3D design. We are looking for a friendly, responsible and organised House Parent to help support the pastoral care and day-to-day wellbeing of campers at our Winchester residential camp. This role would suit someone who is good with young people, calm under pressure, and able to build a caring but professional rapport with children and teenagers. It may suit someone with TEFL, summer school, boarding, camp, youth work, childcare or pastoral experience, although we are not an English-language school. The House Parent works closely with the Camp Manager and helps ensure that campers are safe, settled and well looked after throughout their stay. Main duties include: Supporting camper welfare, pastoral care and behaviour Supervising campers during meals, breaks, evenings and residential times Helping with evening activities and general camp organisation Liaising with campers, parents and the Camp Manager as appropriate Supporting medical and welfare arrangements where needed Helping create a positive, caring and well-run camp environment We are ideally looking for someone to cover the full four-week block, but we would also consider splitting the summer between two suitable people covering two weeks each. This is a live-in residential role, with accommodation and meals provided. The role is busiest outside class time, including wake-up, mealtimes, evening activities and bedtime routines. Time off is usually from late Friday afternoon / early evening until Sunday morning. Teaching experience: 2 years Native level English speaker preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications We are keeping this fairly open. We are mainly looking for someone who: has experience working with children or young people is friendly, calm, reliable and well organised communicates clearly and professionally works well as part of a team can take responsibility and use good judgement is comfortable in a residential camp environment Formal teaching qualifications are not essential. a full UK driving licence access to a car for very occasional local camp-related errands if needed confident supervising groups of teenagers Additional qualifications The following would be useful: first aid training, especially paediatric first aid, or willingness to complete this before starting experience in summer schools, boarding, camps, childcare, youth work, pastoral care or similar settings DBS certification (enhanced DBS and on update service) Salary and Benefits Salary: £790 gross per week Benefits: accommodation provided, usually in a single en-suite room meals / board and lodging provided comprehensive training and support fully funded paediatric first aid training 50% discount on camp places for your own children 15% discount on camp places for family and friends
