We are a growing company looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and reliable teachers. We teach ESL primarily through other subjects, such as Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Our teachers use authentic materials, such as storybooks, movies, and novels, to teach English to motivated youngsters from China. We are currently looking for teachers who have experience in the following subjects: 1. Math – AP and IGCSE Students: Most classes consist of one or two students from ages six to twelve. We also conduct group classes. Class Length: Classes are 30, 45, or 60 minutes long, depending on the age of the students and the course. Responsibilities Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students of all ages. Teachers should be able to build rapport with the kids in order to provide a stress-free learning environment. Teachers are responsible plan their lessons or modify the plans in our library to suit their students and teaching style. We provide the materials, access to our growing resource library, lesson templates, and many PowerPoints for established courses. Teachers create and deliver their lessons in PowerPoint format. Provide brief but regular feedback to parents regarding student progress and material covered. To apply, please send CV, cover letter, and other relevant materials. Qualifications BA TEFL Minimum bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related major. Native-level fluency. Non-native speakers are welcome to apply but candidates must have native or near-native level fluency. At least 1 year classroom experience teaching middle school or high school mathematics. Be able to teach a minimum of 15 hours per week. Preference is given to teachers with greater availability. Available to teach between 6pm and 9 pm during the week and between 8am and 8pm on weekends (China Standard Time). High speed internet connection, quiet place to teach, good quality webcam and microphone/headset. Enthusiasm and love of learning are highly valued! Salary and Benefits Pay: $32.50 CAD/teaching hour to start for 1 or 2 student classes. $40/teaching hour for group classes. After 12 months teachers will also be eligible for raise and annual performance bonuses. All trial classes are paid. We provide 1. Hourly rate starts at $32.50 or $40.00CAD/hour taught. Base pay is in Canadian dollars. Teachers are paid monthly by WISE. 2. Training, resources, and regular feedback.
