The role of the librarian in primary is to foster a culture of reading, research, and lifelong learning among young learners. The School Librarian will play a critical role in ensuring the library environment is conducive to learning and personal development.Personal Specifications:● Qualified teacher with a minimum of two years teaching experience● Proficient ICT user● Awareness of innovative thinking and practice in education● An in-depth and up to date knowledge of the English National Curriculum.● A strong personal presence and high level interpersonal skills● Excellent understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and practicesThe successful candidate must have the following:● A B.Ed or BA degree in Library Science● Proven track record in fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere.● Be a passionate educator dedicated to the well-being, social and academic progress of each student.● Experience which will make a significant contribution to the wider life of the school.If you wish to work in a school which supports and values its teachers and is described by its students as “friendly”, “fair” and “diverse”, we would like to hear from you.Application ProcessAll candidates are required to upload a comprehensive CV along with a covering letter outlining the competencies required to support their application.
