Primary School Specialist Art TeacherJob Advert We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary School Specialist Art Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive art curriculum that inspires creativity, fosters artistic skills, and encourages a love for the arts among our primary school students as well as professionally developing and inspiring our class teachers. St. Catherine’s is a leading independent British international school that teaches 1400 pupils from 3 to 18 years of age. The school is a member of HMC, COBIS, and is an IBO world school. It teaches the EYFS curriculum and the National Curriculum for England and Wales, as well as IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Primary School Specialist Art TeacherJob Description Reports to: Deputy Head of Lower SchoolType of contract: Permanent, Full-TimeHours: 8:15am – 3:45pm which includes a 30-minute break, Monday – Friday inclusivePlace of Work: Lower SchoolHolidays: Term-time only Key Responsibilities: Design and implement an engaging art curriculum that meets the developmental needs and interests of primary school students.Plan and deliver sequences of creative art lessons that incorporate a variety of artistic techniques and mediums which can be continued and developed by class teachers.Ability to create cross-curricular and cultural linksFoster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages self-expression and artistic exploration.Assess and evaluate student progress in art, providing constructive feedback and support.Organise and participate in art exhibitions, displays, and other school-wide events that showcase students’ artwork.Collaborate with other teachers and staff (including in the Upper School) to integrate art into the broader curriculum and school activities.Maintain an organised and resourceful art studio, managing supplies and materials effectively.Stay current with trends and developments in art education to continually enhance the art program.
