Portugal’s largest private quality language school with schools in Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Funchal (Madeira) is always looking for good teaching candidates. We are now recruiting for the 2026/2027 academic year. We welcome CVs from suitably qualified teachers who are either living in Portugal, or those who meet the Portuguese residence permit requirements and are willing to relocate. The full-time contracts are for 22, 50-minute lessons per week. Full range of teaching: children, juniors, teens, adults, intensive courses and companies. We prepare between 1200 and 1300 students for the University of Cambridge examinations annually. The school year is from 1st October to 30th June. There are summer intensive courses in July, August and September. Degree Required Native level English speaker preferred Qualifications Cambridge CELTA Candidates must have a university degree and an EFL qualification – Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TESOL or equivalent. Candidates should provide precise details for other EFL courses. We prefer candidates who have completed face-to-face courses. Candidates must be native level speakers of English and either have permission to work in the EU or hold a valid work permit for employment in Portugal. We will not be able to consider applications that do not meet with these requirements. We prefer candidates with EFL experience. Salary and Benefits At the moment, in a typical month, most starting teachers will average around 1600 euros after deductions and extras. Two bonus salaries are paid per year (Christmas and summer). One month’s paid summer holiday. In addition, all staff currently receive a monthly meal subsidy of 141.02. In addition to joining the Portuguese National Health scheme, the school employs its own medical officers.
