The role:Northwood College for Girls is seeking to appoint an experienced, hardworking and conscientious Caretaker to join its Estates Team.This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and practical individual to play a key role in supporting and developing the school, its estate and wider community by helping to maintain a safe, clean and presentable environment for staff, students and visitors.Working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective site and facilities service across the school’s buildings and grounds. Your responsibilities will include the maintenance of the fabric, fixtures and services of the school’s properties, supporting site security through opening and securing the premises, and carrying out the testing of alarm and surveillance systems as required.We are looking for a physically fit, reliable and adaptable individual, with strong handyman skills and previous experience of working within a team environment and alongside contractors. A sound understanding of health and safety requirements, cleaning methods, security and emergency procedures, preventative maintenance and basic trade skills is essential. A trade qualification, particularly in plumbing or electrical work, would be advantageous.About the School:Northwood College for Girls is an independent, academically selective day school for approximately 840 girls aged 3-18.
