As a School Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of our school community, providing practical, emotional and educational support that enables young people to flourish. No two days are ever the same. One moment you could be supporting a pupil in the classroom to achieve a breakthrough in their learning, and the next you could be helping them navigate challenges, regulate emotions and build the confidence to engage positively with the world around them.What you will be doingImplement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and provide tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)Contribute to the school’s safeguarding culture by following all safeguarding policies and proceduresDeliver structured learning activities and programmes, adjusting to student needs and providing feedback to teaching staffSupport the use of ICT to develop students’ independence and digital competenceBuild constructive relationships with parents/carers and share relevant information with the wider staff teamPromote inclusion, acceptance, and equal opportunities for all studentsSupervise students during transitions and unstructured timesAssist in developing and applying behaviour management strategiesActively contribute to the ethos, aims, and overall work of the schoolWhat you will bringMaths and English GCSE (Grade 4/C and above) or equivalent.A solid standard of English and Maths, along with experience supporting students in a school environment.Strong understanding of restorative and trauma‑informed practices, with the ability to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.The ability to monitor and record student progress, wellbeing, and engagement accurately and professionally, following organisational procedures.A motivated, enthusiastic, and team‑focused approach, committed to helping students achieve their full potential and supporting the wider school ethos.Driving licence is required About UsReddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school in Stockport for pupils with SEMH needs, many with additional diagnoses including ASC, ADHD, and Dyslexia.
