This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment where learning is tailored, inclusive and focused on helping every pupil achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.You will play a key role in creating a calm, engaging and structured learning environment, supporting pupils to build confidence, develop independence and succeed at their own pace. Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals, you will ensure a consistent, trauma-informed and pupil-centred approach to education and care.In this role, you will:Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons for individuals and small groupsTrack, assess and report on pupil progress, adapting provision to meet individual needsDevelop and review EHCP targets, behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plansCreate a safe, stimulating and well-organised classroom environmentWork closely with support staff to maximise engagement and learning outcomesSupport pupils to develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviourContribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement prioritiesBuild strong relationships with colleagues, families and external agenciesEnsure safeguarding, health and safety and compliance requirements are consistently metPlay an active role within a collaborative, multi-professional teamThis role is ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about inclusive education and committed to helping pupils with SEND thrive.What you will bring:A relevant teaching qualification (e.g. QTS/PGCE or equivalent)Experience working within an education setting, ideally with pupils with SENDProven ability to plan, deliver and adapt engaging lessons to meet individual needsStrong organisational skills with the ability to lead and coordinate effectivelyA collaborative approach and confidence working as part of a multi-disciplinary teamCommitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to work towards further qualifications where requiredWillingness to undertake relevant induction and training on appointmentAbout UsMeadowcroft is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 19, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs in 4 sites across Wakefield.
