Job Description: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) – US Curriculum About The School of Research Science – SRS Dubai: The School of Research Science (SRS) Dubai is a leading international school committed to providing high-quality education with a focus on inquiry-based learning and academic excellence. We offer the US curriculum in a supportive, inclusive environment that nurtures every student’s potential. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join our team. The SENDCo will be responsible for coordinating support for students with special educational needs, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, collaborating with teachers and parents, and promoting an inclusive culture within the school. Skills and Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (minimum requirement) – At least 2 years of experience working as a SENDCo or in a similar role supporting students with special educational needs – Strong knowledge of US curriculum standards and SEN best practices – Ability to assess student needs, develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and monitor progress effectively – Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, parents, external agencies, and students – Organizational skills to manage records, reports, meetings, and resources efficiently – Proficiency in using educational technology tools to support learning interventions Values and Attitudes: – Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued – Empathy towards diverse learner needs combined with patience and understanding – Collaborative mindset willing to work closely across departments for holistic student development – Proactive approach toward continuous professional development in SEN strategies – Respectful attitude towards cultural diversity within the school community If you are passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives through specialized support services within an innovative international setting, we encourage you to apply.
