The role As a Social-Emotional Counsellor at Regent’s International School Bangkok, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and personal development of our students. Based in Wang Thonglang, Bangkok, this full-time position will see you providing confidential
counselling and guidance to help our students navigate personal and professional challenges. What you’ll be doing Student Counselling and Support Provide confidential short-term, individual and small group counselling for students experiencing emotional, behavioural or mental health challenges Support students in
developing coping strategies, emotional regulation, and resilience Deliver developmentally appropriate interventions, particularly in the early years and primary settings (including play-based approaches, where appropriate) Provide crisis support and immediate intervention when required Maintain clear professional boundaries, recognising when to refer
students for longer-term or external specialist support Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with safeguarding and data protection expectations Early Intervention and Wellbeing Promotion Develop and deliver structured Learning for Life programmes across primary and secondary, as appropriate Lead workshops
for students, staff, and parents to promote mental health awareness and resilience Support key transition points (e.g. Early Years to Primary, Primary to Secondary) Contribute to preventative strategies that reduce barriers to learning and wellbeing Act as a visible advocate
for wellbeing across the school community Safeguarding and Student Welfare Act as an integral part of the school’s safeguarding system Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) on child protection concerns Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding issues in
line with school procedures Provide appropriate support within safeguarding cases, including completion of Suicide Risk Assessments and Safety Plans Support behaviour and emotional responses linked to underlying wellbeing needs Collaboration with Colleagues and Parents Work closely with teachers, pastoral leaders,
and school leadership to support student wellbeing Act as a consultant to staff, providing strategies to support students in the classroom Communicate sensitively with parents, including sharing insights and listening to family perspectives Participate in Team Around the Child (TAC)
meetings Contribute to a consistent, whole-school approach to student wellbeing External Liaison and Referral Pathways Contribute to the development and maintenance of a referral network of external professionals (e.g. psychologists, therapists, psychiatrists) Liaise with external agencies to support student assessments
and ongoing care Support the collection and sharing of information for external referrals (with appropriate consent) Guide parents in accessing appropriate external support when needed Monitoring, Reporting and Development Track student wellbeing trends and report appropriately to school leadership Maintain
professional, accurate records and ensure confidentiality is upheld Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s counselling and wellbeing provision Engage in ongoing professional development and remain informed of best practice Attend regular external clinical supervision with a qualified mental
