Your goal will be to nurture and develop high-quality IB teaching and learning, ensuring both students and staff are empowered to reach their personal excellence within a vibrant and forward-thinking international setting.Lead, Coach, and InnovateAs a Subject Area Leader, you are the architect of your department’s pedagogical journey. Your mission includes:Lead by example as an active teacher, acting as a passionate role model of what high-quality learning looks like in practice.Set high expectations by modelling and establishing high standards for holistic student support and effective classroom management across the department.Lead and support a dynamic team by fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.Provide curriculum oversight, ensuring the effective implementation and development of the department’s curriculum.Ensure strategic alignment by working with subject coordinators on horizontal and vertical alignment within the MYP, CP, and DP frameworks.Represent the department in weekly meetings with other subject area leaders to contribute to school-wide, cross-departmental initiatives.Drive coaching and growth by providing direct support to subject coordinators and team members to facilitate their professional development.Maintain quality assurance through frequent classroom visits to celebrate best practices and identify targeted continuous professional development opportunities.Manage resources effectively, overseeing the subject area budget and ensuring all IB administrative requirements are met.Leadership built on collaborationWe believe that leadership is most effective when it is shared and supported.
