Abbotsholme Summer School Contract: Fixed-term (Summer Programme) Dates: 3rd July 16th August Reporting to: Summer School Director / Director of Studies Location: Abbotsholme School Student Age Range: 11-18 (international students) Abbotsholme School is recruiting TeacherActivity Leaders to join our international summer school team. This is a varied and rewarding role combining classroom teaching with leading sports, activities, excursions and evening events for students aged 1118. Set within a traditional British boarding school campus in the countryside, the Abbotsholme Summer School offers international students a programme combining English language learning, outdoor activities, sports, cultural excursions and enrichment experiences. TeacherActivity Leaders play a key role in creating a fun, safe and engaging environment for students while supporting both the academic and activity programmes. Key responsibilities include: – Delivering engaging lessons to international students – Leading afternoon sports, games and enrichment activities – Supporting evening entertainment and social events – Supervising students during excursions and off-site visits – Ensuring high standards of student welfare and safeguarding – Acting as a positive role model within the residential school community Essential: – Teaching qualification (PGCE, CELTA, TEFL or equivalent) – Experience working with young people aged 1118 – Enthusiastic and confident leading groups and activities – Strong communication and teamwork skills Desirable: Experience in summer schools, camps or residential programmes Skills in sport, outdoor education, performing arts or leadership activities This is an excellent opportunity to gain teaching, leadership and international experience while working as part of a dynamic summer school team. Qualifications Cambridge CELTA PGCE / CELTA or TEFL Salary and Benefits Total weekly pay Non-residential staff: £610 Residential staff: £533 (£77 per week is deducted for accommodation and full board) 12.07% holiday pay will be added to your salary Working Hours Total of up to 44 hours per week Made up of: Teaching: 5 sessions of 3 hours per week 15 hours Activity Sessions: up to 29 hours per week including weekends as per rota Activity session duration 3 4 hours Full day excursions duration up to 10 hours Attendance at daily briefing meetings required
