Applicants must have the qualities to successfully teach Drama and English in one of the leading 11-18 schools in Europe. The successful candidate will be able to teach Drama to examination level at A Level, in the IB Diploma and at IGCSE, as well as making a significant contribution to the Drama enrichment programme including staging various school productions. They must also be willing and able to teach classes in the 11-14 age range. Experience of international education at Secondary level would be welcome but applications from teachers new to the profession as well as more experienced colleagues are welcome.Your RoleWe are looking in to appoint a Drama specialist who also has the ability to teach English within our high performing English Faculty. It is expected that the successful candidate will teach c.75% in Drama and c.25% in English. It may be possible to make a part-time appointment for a Drama teacher for the right candidate.Your ProfileThe successful candidate will ideally have some previous experience teaching in the British system or in an International School across the Secondary School age range with experience teaching Years 7 – 13 (ages 11-18).The successful candidate should:value strong relationships with students, colleagues and parents to create a climate for the highest standards of learningset the highest standards in terms of learning and teaching, getting the very best from students from all backgrounds and of all abilitieswork closely with department colleagues in creating a sense of cohesion and collaborative spirit within the department and co-operate with colleagues in other departments and the Primary Schoolbe attuned to current developments in the teaching of Dramabe an innovative and strategic thinker; with the ability to work calmly under pressure and to respect deadlinesbe appreciative of students’ differing cultural and linguistic backgroundsbe actively involved in professional learning within the department, and across departments where opportunities arise, including after-school meetings, relevant courses and professional learning daysbe willing and able to contribute wholeheartedly to
