We consist of three geographers, five historians and one RS specialist, all of whom love working here and are passionate about securing the best outcomes for our students. We share the Scott corridor, aptly named after the famous Antarctic explorer, and all of the Humanities classrooms are resourced with interactive whiteboards, visualisers and ample storage, which will enable you to teach in a variety of ways. In addition to this, we share a small workroom with several computers, fridge, freezer and nearly always a selection of snacks! And if snacks and a fridge aren’t what you are looking for, we also have a range of teaching and learning books to support professional development, as well as a selection of subject books and subscriptions to professional organisations, such as the Historical Association. Wellbeing and management of workload are a priority for the department, and we work collaboratively whenever possible and often share resources and planning. We all want the best for our students, and by sharing expertise and best practices, we believe we can achieve this. The amazing Reprographics department is also always available to help with printing and resource making for lessons, and this support is invaluable.
