Brighton College Vietnam is looking to appoint a Teacher of History to join our team in August 2026.About the Role The academic success of Brighton College Vietnam is due to excellent, innovative and well-planned teaching. Reporting to: Head of Humanities About the Department The Humanities Department currently consists of two teachers and a Head of Department. The Department teaches its own bespoke scheme of work in Years 7 and 8 called Story of our Land which integrates history, geography and culture in line with Brighton College UK and our international family of schools. In Year 9, pupils study geography and history as separate subjects and we offer the IGCSE in geography and history at key stage 4. The department offers history and geography at IBDP in Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, rigorous, and thought-provoking History lessons, fostering pupils’ analytical skills, intellectual independence, and understanding of the past in both local and global contexts. This role requires the ability to teach History up to Year 13. IBDP experience is useful, but full training will be given if needed. Duties and Responsibilities To be an ambassador of the College at all times. To teach a timetable, carry out staff duties (as determined by SLT) and actively support the Co-Curricular Programme leading a minimum of two activities per week. Teaching And Learning To encourage each pupil to reach their academic potential through enthusiastic and personalised teaching, tailored stretch and challenge, rigorous record keeping and follow up. To be aware of and comply with all the College policies including those for marking and assessment, teaching and learning and reporting. To develop and share schemes of work and resources, using the agreed formats. To assist with covering colleagues as required. To attend all meetings and INSET as required. To prepare, invigilate and assess, as required internal and external tests and examinations. To teach Story of Our Land at Key Stage 3 and History at IGCSE and IBDP.
