The Dragon seeks to appoint an outstanding teacher to teach Maths to Years 5 to 8 who will be willing to make a wide contribution to the life of this busy, exciting and successful school. The position would suit an ECT (Early Career Teacher) or someone who has been teaching for a number of years, either with senior school (independent or maintained sector) or prep school experience. We would also welcome applications from those who have taught Key Stage 2 Maths in a primary school setting. All staff contribute to extra-curricular activities, including Dragon QUEST – our Saturday morning enrichment programme. Some staff are involved in our Sports programme, but the school is large enough for a great variety of cultural and academic interests to be welcomed and to provide ample opportunities for further career progress within the school. Although the Dragon is the UK’s largest co-educational boarding and day preparatory school, its deeply personalised approach to each child, and its values of ‘kindness, courage and respect’ are shared collectively by the school community. The Dragon is non-selective on admission and prides itself on outstanding academic, pastoral and co-curricular outcomes for pupils in its pre-preparatory department, Dragon Pre-Prep, (for pupils aged 4-7 years) and in its preparatory department (8-13 years).Reports to: Head of Maths
