Michael J. Ryan is an experienced English Language Arts and Humanities educator with over seven years of international teaching experience in Thailand and China. He has taught at the secondary level across a range of programs, including a UK-aligned English immersion program at Bangkok Christian College and an AP college-preparatory international program at Chengdu Foreign Languages School.
Michael’s subject expertise spans ELA, ESL/EFL instruction, Social Studies, history, philosophy, and academic writing, with particular strength in discussion-based and project-based learning environments. He holds a BA in History & Political Science from Rutgers University and a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certification, and has successfully taught students from middle school through secondary level in multicultural, multilingual classrooms.
Michael is currently based in Southeast Asia and is available for international teaching positions beginning August 2026, bringing a strong record of long-term commitment to school communities and curriculum development.
