We are currently seeking to appoint a part-time Learning Enrichment teacher (0.6 FTE) from September 2026.This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding and expanding department, and to shape support for pupils within our warm and dynamic community.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and support for teaching:Delivering specialist 1:1 and group teaching to support pupils; this role will be focused on senior school pupils (years 7-13)Preparing individually tailored lesson plans for each pupil, and organising or creating teaching resources as appropriatePreparing personal teaching timetables (which vary weekly)Target-setting and undertaking detailed evaluation of lessons with follow-up plansConducting in-class observation of pupilsRunning workshops for pupils, for instance, in relation to communication skills, study and revision skillsScreening, assessments, pupil profiles and access arrangements:Reading specialist reports and implementing appropriate support, and exam access arrangements if appropriatePreparing and updating pupil profiles and liaising with teaching staff on specific pupil requirementsSupporting the head of department to provide written feedback and information for external assessors on individual pupils receiving support when requiredResponding to referrals from pupils, teachers and parentsCarrying out and/or supporting with the administration of group screening assessmentsHelping to maintain and update pupil records and the LE registerInvigilating internal and entrance examsSupporting applicants with admissions-related processes requiring access arrangementsCommunity and stakeholder engagement:Regularly liaising with teaching staff to monitor progress and provide relevant updates or specialist adviceRegularly liaising with parents via email, phone calls or face-to-face meetingsAttending weekly departmental meetings and other regular meetings to discuss and review pupils receiving support (including head of house and head of year meetings)Contributing and supporting with the promotion of greater understanding and awareness of neurodivergent learners within the King’s communityPerson SpecificationWe are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Enrichment teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with learning needs, and keen to see all students develop into fully independent learners.The successful candidate will have:An eagerness to inspire and support all pupils to flourish and reach their academic potentialStrong pastoral instincts and a commitment to excellent pastoral care and safeguarding for all pupilsA good Honours degreePrior experience of supporting pupils in a learning support role within a secondary school environmentA teaching qualification in SpLD, at a minimum of Level 5, or equivalentSome experience of supporting neurodivergent pupilsA thorough knowledge of the principles underpinning the support of pupils with a diverse range of needsAn excellent understanding of the latest policies and legislation relating to SENDExcellent communication skillsAn ability to work well with othersGood ICT, organisation and administrative skillsA personal commitment to ongoing professional developmentThe ability to take the initiative, and demonstrate resourcefulness, resilience and adaptabilityThe following would be advantageous:Prior experience of working with high achieving, academically able pupilsPrior experience of supporting EAL pupilsA desire to contribute to the school’s thriving cocurricular programmeKing’s is one of the most successful schools in the world, with outstanding academic results, first-class pastoral care and a vibrant co-curriculum.
