Working closely with the Food Science Teacher, you will: Prepare ingredients, materials and equipment for practical lessonsAssist with demonstrations, displays and College eventsMonitor stock levels and place orders when requiredMaintain clean, hygienic and organised food preparation areasSupport pupils during practical activitiesEnsure all health and safety procedures are followedHelp maintain equipment and resources in excellent conditionAssist with inventories, audits and record keepingContribute to Food Science co-curricular activities We Are Looking for Someone Who:Is highly organised and proactiveTakes pride in maintaining a clean and efficient workspaceWorks well as part of a teamEnjoys working with young peopleHas good practical food preparation skillsUnderstands the importance of health, safety and hygiene standards Whilst not in a teaching role, as a Food Science Technician you will be working on a regular basis in a school in a role which gives opportunity for contact with children. As such, you will be in regulated activity and an enhanced DBS check (which includes children’s barred list information) will be required in advance of appointment.Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. As with all College staff members, you will therefore be responsible for providing a safe environment in which children can learn.
