We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Physical Education. The right candidate will be able to inspire and motivate students through their teaching of Physical Education and be committed to delivering high quality learning experiences, which meet the needs of all students, regardless of their skills, attainment and particular learning needs. Key responsibilities include: Demonstrate good subject knowledge and ensure that this continues to develop through ongoing professional learning. A desire to share a passion for the subject through day-to-day teaching.A proactive and enthusiastic approach to teaching and wider professional practice.A clear understanding of the needs of all students, including those with different needs, those of high ability, those with English as an additional language and those with unique challenges.Create reflective opportunities for the students to monitor and review their learning with a clear sense of how to improve; support students to learn from their failures as much as their successes.Participate in collaborative planning and reflection to effectively implement the curriculum.Demonstrate commitment to providing learning opportunities beyond the subject area.We are a forward-thinking school and therefore we invest in potential future leaders as as well as excellent teachers. We expect our teachers to be skilled in using digital tools for teaching (example: Macbook, Touch Screen boards and iPads). The chosen candidate will be a reflective practitioner and embrace opportunities for CPD. Qualifications and ExperienceEssential: A Bachelor or Masters degree in Physical Education.An official teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor or Master’s level degree in Education, Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Education, etc.Be able to teach Physical Education to all year groups from Primary to Secondary education. Have the ability to teach basketball, football, volleyball and swimming to a high level.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational and leadership skills.Preferred:Experience teaching IB MYP and IGCSE PE is advantageous.A proven track record with at least two year’s teaching experienceTracking, Assessment, Recording, ReportingMake effective use of assessment to plan challenging learning opportunities for all students.Collect and use meaniful data to enhance teaching and learning.Monitor and record students’ learning to ensure they remain on track to achieve challenging targets.Report on progress to students, colleagues and parents. Student Care and GuidanceEstablish a safe, purposeful learning environment for all students.Promote the progress and well-being of all students. Contributre to the preparation of actions plans and other support mechanisms.Alert appropriate staff to issues experienced by students and make recommendations as to how these may be resolved.Communicate effectively with parents and liase cleary with other staff.
