English Language Teacher & Lecturer With 9 Years’ Experience Teaching in China

I am a CELTA-qualified teacher with nine years’ experience teaching English at the University of Emergency Management in Beijing/Hebei, China. With a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London and a Master’s-level postgraduate diploma from the University of Law, London, I have extensive experience teaching English to teenagers and young adults as well as preparing Chinese students for study abroad, so I understand well the difficulties commonly experienced by Chinese learners of English. I have a passion for helping all students fulfil their potential and enjoy taking an active role in their academic and personal development. I am confident with a professional, open, friendly and sociable manner, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to both lead classes and work as part of a larger team. My teaching interests include language pedagogy for teenage learners and young adults, literature, advanced academic English reading and writing, and English for business and professional purposes. I currently live in Beijing and hold a valid Chinese residence permit.
