If you take pride in your trade and want to share your expertise, this is your chance to make a real difference—helping learners build not just walls, but their futures.What You’ll Be DoingTeaching & InspiringDeliver engaging, hands-on and theory-based sessions in Bricklaying across Levels 1–3.Teach a wide range of practical skills including brickwork, blockwork, cavity walls, and setting out.Bring additional trades to life, including rendering and basic plastering.Create exciting lesson plans and learning materials that make construction skills accessible and enjoyable.Support learners in building confidence, employability skills, and professional standards.Provide meaningful feedback that helps students grow and succeed.Assessment & QualityPlan and deliver assessments in line with awarding body and college standards.Track and support learner progress with accurate and timely records.Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement within the department.Supporting LearnersEncourage positive attitudes, good attendance, and strong work ethics.Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs.Champion safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in everything you do.Team & Professional ImpactWork collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and curriculum leaders.Keep your skills fresh and relevant with industry developments and CPD.Get involved in curriculum development, enrichment activities, and exciting college events.What We’re Looking ForEssential:A strong background in Bricklaying with solid industry experience.Level 3 (or above) qualification in Bricklaying or Construction Craft.Experience in rendering, plastering, or related trowel trades.A teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or willingness to work towards one.Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1) or willingness to achieve.Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a workshop environment effectively.Desirable:Experience teaching in Further Education or training apprentices.Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification.A current CSCS card or recent industry CPD.Experience working with both 16–19 learners and adult students.Why Join Us?Basic salary up to £41,000.A £3,000 Golden Hello to welcome you on board.50 days of annual leave.An extra 28% of salary into your pension.Be part of a forward-thinking and supportive team, living and working within minutes of beautiful beaches and picturesque Exmoor.Shape the future
