ROLE SUMMARY:Pembridge Hall is an independent girls’ preparatory school (ages 4 – 11) of 463 girls set in a tranquil residential square in Notting Hill. Pembridge Hall girls are nurtured, challenged and empowered to succeed.Pembridge Hall are now looking for a Head of Art and Design for a January 2027 start. The Head of Art and Design Technology is responsible for ensuring that a high challenge and well-balanced curriculum, in the particular subject area, is taught effectively and consistently throughout the school, leading to the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. They will provide leadership in the organisation and management of a subject, including pupils, staff, premises and environment. Additionally, they are expected to promote and support the ethos, aims and vision of the school and maintain its philosophy of education. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage, lead and develop all aspects of Art and Design Technology within the schoolLine manage members of the DepartmentLead and manage all relevant events, including (but not limited to) Inter-House Art and Design Competitions, external competitions, Art Exhibitions, Design Technology challenges etc.Actively promote performance opportunities across the schoolIdentify talented pupils for Senior School Awards and ScholarshipsManage the budget for the DepartmentTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:Experience teaching Art in the primary age rangeTeaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Evidence of strong pupil progress and high-quality Art teachingAbility to use varied teaching strategies to motivate young learnersStrong classroom management and organisational skillsConfident user of ICT Ability to use assessment to raise standardsStrong communication skills with children and parents SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT:Inspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
