Every day brings new opportunities to support, inspire and celebrate the achievements of our pupils.What You’ll Be DoingSupport pupils with SEMH and additional needs to engage positively in learning.Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and personalised learning activities.Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs.Help create a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment.Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour development.Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom activities.Work collaboratively as part of a passionate multi-disciplinary team focused on achieving the best outcomes for every pupil.About YouWe’re looking for someone who:Holds GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.Has experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children and young people (SEN experience desirable).Has an interest in supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional needs.Builds positive, trusting relationships with young people.Is patient, adaptable and resilient when faced with challenges.Embraces a therapeutic and nurturing approach to supporting learning and behaviour.Works well both independently and as part of a team.Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.About UsNew Barn School, part of Options Autism, provides inclusive, nurturing education for autistic children and young people with complex needs across three sites.
