I participated in the Coursera 28 day challenge in the Mastery of AI Tools and now have certificates of competence in a variety
of different AI tools. As a translator I have frequently used DeepL which is extremely reliable for the European languages that I
habitually work in. Chat GPT has proved useful for a wide range of other tasks. For my personal requirements I am satisfied but
am also aware of the other platforms available to me. The field is in continuously in evolution and ability to use a
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
1974 as a English language teaching assistant grammar school in Bad Godesberg, Germany in my role of teaching assistant as a
year assignment as part of my undergraduate degree.
1978 – 1984 Turin Italy. TwoI moved to Turin in the north of Italy where I spent most of my career. I spent the first four years
teaching in two private schools where I became a director of studies. My university training with its emphasis on the various
aspects of the English language together with a keen interest in comparative linguistics allowed me to develop a very rewarding
career in the teaching field. In my fourth year in Italy I trained English teachers.
1987 A two year contract at a Catholic school at Moncalieri Italy where I taught pupils between the ages of fifteen and sixteen.
In the years between 1984 and 1996 I followed the path of freelance teacher developing ad hoc courses of various lengths for
different special purposes including in-company work for professionals in the engineering, business and tourism fields. I also
developed courses for the army, police and medical fields as well as for individuals preparing to live in an English speaking
country.
From 1996 to 2010 I taught English at the University of Turin’s School of Management and Tourism where I oversaw the English
and French programmes.
I spent two years teaching mature students at the European University of Leisure Time in Palermo Sicily. The second year was
during the pandemic where I became proficient in teaching online
