We follow the Edexcel course because of its international flavour. Politics is a popular A Level choice at Bedales and builds from our bespoke courses at KS4 in Global Perspectives and Geography. The Politics department is part of the Humanities Faculty which also includes History, Geography, Global Perspectives, Philosophy Religion & Ethics, and Economics & Business.Experience & BackgroundAn outstanding classroom practitioner, you will have a good degree in Politics or similar subject and have experience teaching it to A Level.Experience of working in a boarding school is useful but not necessary.TimetableYou will be timetabled to teach between 8 and 16 35-minute lessons a week depending on your availability. (Full time teachers teach 32 periods each week.) Learning takes place throughout the day and encompasses tutoring, co-curricular activities, and support and extension sessions as well as subject lessons. Most core curriculum commitments for students are scheduled from 09:00 hrs to 17:30 hrs on Monday to Friday, and until 12:50 hrs on Saturday. The days for this post are to be negotiated according to your availability and will be discussed at interview stage. Students also have access to optional activities before and after the main school day.
